Fifth Gear does not simply pick, pack and ship. We do much more for our clients that help streamline their business in a cost effective and efficient way. From embroidery and engraving, to wood and glass cutting, to bottling, our ability to be your entire operational arm is inimitable.

Fifth Gear’s technology and administrative headquarters is in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operate major fulfillment and customer contact centers in Missouri and Pennsylvania.


Matt Konkle


As the President of Fifth Gear, Matt Konkle is responsible for leading the company’s strategic direction and overseeing all aspects of worldwide company operations. Matt has an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Indiana University. He is a frequent industry speaker and also serves on several advisory and community boards including the Governor Bob Orr Indiana Entrepreneurial Fellowship.

Jeff Dahltorp

VP, Planning and Assessment

As the Vice President of Planning and Assessment for Fifth Gear, Jeff Dahltorp is responsible for managing the product road map and strategic integrations for the Fifth Gear proprietary order management/WMS platform, onboarding of new clients, as well as operational business and data analysis. He has worked with a number of large and small technology, software, and consulting firms, positioning them for dramatic growth over a short period of time.

Don Van der Wiel


As the Chief Financial Officer of Fifth Gear, Don Van der Wiel leads our finance, purchasing, human resource, and safety functions. Don has an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business, a BA in Economics from Northwestern University, and holds a CPA. He has held leadership roles at hhgregg, Buffets Holdings, Things Remembered, Carter’s and Sears.

Rick Hall

VP, Client Success

As Vice President, Client Success, Rick oversees Fifth Gear’s contact centers, client success teams, and business services division. He and his teams serve as our clients’ “eyes and ears” inside Fifth Gear, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their operations and providing strategic vision to help our clients streamline their operations and find new ways to grow their businesses. Rick holds an MBA from Lindenwood University and comes to us with over 20 years’ experience in leadership roles to support retail, ecommerce, financial services and technology industries.

Rob McIlvaine

VP, Technology

In his role as Vice President, Technology, Rob drives the ongoing development of Fifth Gear’s proprietary ecommerce systems. In addition to implementing integrations and overseeing the platforms’ use in our facilities, Rob and his teams also support the legacy clients who utilize Fifth Gear technology in their own fulfillment centers. In previous lives Rob has held product development and technical roles within the healthcare, insurance, and consulting markets.

Blake Vaughn

VP, Sales and Marketing

As Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Blake oversees the company’s sales initiatives, marketing programs, and business development opportunities for Fifth Gear. His extensive experience in the supply chain logistics, fulfillment, and strategic management make him an outstanding resource for potential clients and a published thought leader in our industry. He has previously held executive roles at Ingram Micro Mobility and Brightpoint (acquired by Ingram Micro in 2012) and operations positions with AT&T and Retek (now part of Oracle Retail Solutions). Blake received a bachelor’s degree in logistics, materials, and supply chain management from Georgia Southern University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
